Importance of drinking water

Have you ever imagined a life without water?

 Imagine a life without H2O? Imagine a world without water bodies like ocean, sea, river, ponds, streams, canals, wells, borewells? No, it is impossible. Every living thing on the Earth needs H2O to survive. It might of Plants, Animals, Reptiles, Human beings. The foremost thing of all living beings are food, water and shelter. Human body is made up of 60% water. The main essential nutrients found in water are calcium, magnesium, fluoride, sodium, copper, selenium, potassium. All these minerals and nutrients keeps our body fit and healthy.  It needs water for a normal metabolism.

Why do Human body require water?

Human body needs water to digest the food and excrete waste.  Drinking water helps our body to maintain the body fluids. Water intake helps kidneys to  flush out waste from the blood. To be super healthy, human body needs sufficient intake of water.  Without adequate water, the body cells starts shrinking, so the brain will signal to urinate less. All these actions happens through kidneys in case our body don’t take enough water intake. Water is essential not only for excretion of waste, it requires for normal metabolism of body parts. It helps the body to remove toxins from the body in the form of urine and sweat. In case of insufficient intake of water, the toxins buildup within organs causing organ failure.

Water is essential to the human body for almost all the processes like:

  • Regulating normal body temperature.
  • Carrying of nutrients and oxygen to all the cells in the body.
  • Creation of saliva.
  • Digestion of food.
  • Circulation of blood to all organs.

How much water does a human body require?

Drinking water alone does not contribute to 60% of water content in the human body. Fluids from water, beverages like teas and juice, food contributes to the water content in the body. Health experts say that men should drink an average of 3.7 litres (15.5 cups) of water and women on an average should drink 2.7 litres (11.5 cups) of water.
